Patrick Jude M. Uljer, a Certified Hospitality Professional (CHP) since 2024, is steadily making his mark at the intersection of hospitality and human resources. Currently serving as HR Recruitment and Selection Assistant at Alrose Group of Companies in Iligan City, he plays a pivotal role in talent acquisition—screening candidates, facilitating onboarding, and ensuring the organization attracts and retains individuals aligned with its vision and values. A graduate of Mindanao State University – Maigo School of Arts and Trades with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, Patrick is furthering his leadership capacity through a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.

His dual expertise is reinforced by professional credentials, including his CHP designation from the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Professionals (ITHP) and a Certified Human Resource Associate (CHRA) title from the Human Resource Educators Association of the Philippines. Complemented by TESDA-accredited competencies in housekeeping, cookery, food and beverage service, and bread and pastry production, as well as his ROTC training, Patrick brings a rare balance of frontline operational knowledge and HR strategy to his work—anchored in service, professionalism, and continuous learning.

Discovering ITHP and Career Growth – When asked how he learned about the Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Professionals, Patrick shared that he discovered ITHP while seeking organizations that aligned with his passion for hospitality excellence and lifelong learning. Since joining, he has felt a stronger sense of purpose and professional credibility. ITHP has opened doors to recognition in the field, broadened his network, and strengthened his confidence to contribute meaningfully to the industry.

Applying ITHP Values in HR Leadership – In his current HR role, Patrick applies the values and standards he has embraced through ITHP to shape a people-centered culture. From onboarding new talents to promoting service excellence, these principles guide him in fostering an environment where both employees and the organization can thrive. To aspiring members, Patrick offers this encouragement: becoming part of ITHP is a powerful investment in personal and professional growth, offering a supportive community, valuable resources, and global credibility in tourism and hospitality.
